Meet Sam. Sam has been in the landscaping and irrigation industry for over 15 years! Having a Landscape design degree from SDSU under his belt, he knows all of the ins and outs. Having worked under a big landscape business based out of Mitchel in his younger years, then purchasing his own business in Mobridge, Oahe Landscapes, then selling out to his partner to move up to Fargo with his wife and family while working the landscape industry in ND, then right back in to starting a new landscape partnership in the great Rapid City, his expertise is top notch. He is a master at irrigation design, having large experience in both residential and commercial systems. He also really enjoys landscape design, and if someone mentions a pond or waterfall, he’s pumped. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his two girls and his wife, Amanda. His other hobbies including staying fit with exercise, traveling to state parks and being outdoors, especially hiking! So, he is super excited to be back in the great Black Hills.
This is Derik. Derik has been in the landscape and irrigation industry for 8 years now, and he found what he loves. Having done some college at USD and worked in several industries in the past including auto body repair and rubber roofing (and the garden department at Reptile Gardens back in high school) he finally found his niche with landscaping. Derik Started working with Sam 8 years ago, and then worked his way into a partnership in Oahe Landscapes with Sam. When Sam moved to Fargo, Derik bought him out of his interest in the company and still takes care of the Mobridge Division. He really enjoys irrigation and is certified with the State of SD for Irrigation Contracting, but loves the landscaping aspects like patios, retaining walls, and PLANTS. In 2023, Derik with Sam and Jades help, decided to make the push and expand the business to Rapid City and had a great 2024 year. Derik enjoys spending time with his daughter and girlfriend Stacey, along with weightlifting, any type of hiking, traveling, woodworking and hunting.
Jade has been a great addition to the company. Jade, with a degree in electric, has worked in the electric and natural gas industry for almost 20 years, until he decided that he just wanted something a little more in his life and found that he really enjoys landscaping. Sam and Derik knew that Jades top notch work ethic and attention to detail would make him a great partner in the business. He was so familiar working with piping in the gas industry that he took like a fish to water with underground irrigation, and very much enjoys seeing a landscape project come together with his own 2 hands. Being a member of the Cheyenne River Tripe, Jade really brings a true meaning to the company name, Oahe, which means foundation, or ground to stand upon. Jade has four children and has a great relationship with his girlfriend Sadie, and his hobbies include weightlifting, any kind of hiking, and his new passion, rock climbing.
